Intensive earthworks and preparatory work are continuing at the Pernerka Gallery construction site, moving the project into its next phase. The last weeks of August saw significant progress in excavation, material removal, and securing the construction pit.

Sand extraction and removal is currently focused mainly on the area along Palackého třída, where excavation to the level of the first anchoring is underway. The western part of the construction site has undergone a complete overhaul – the original layers, including the subbase, have been removed from the construction area, and the preparation of the subsoil for sheet pile anchoring has also been completed.

Significant progress has also been made in the area of sheet piling and anchoring the construction pit. “Most sections of the sheet pile walls have already been completed or are currently under construction. Two sheet piling rigs are advancing along each side of the construction pit, securing its perimeter. Anchoring has already been completed on the south and west sides, while work continues in other areas with the welding of tie rods and the tensioning of anchors,” explains project manager Karel Biskup, adding that this work should be completed by the end of September 2025.

AZ Prezip has already completed the drilling of wells inside the construction pit. The originally planned 21 boreholes have been expanded by one additional well in the entrance ramp. Once these are completed, workers will move on to drilling and concreting piles for the future installation of concrete pumps along the perimeter of the pit.

Other preparatory work is also underway at the construction site. In particular, securing the traction cable for the Pardubice Transport Company and relocating linear structures, which are necessary for the start of the main excavation of the pit.
