Pardubice is a modern city with developed infrastructure, a strong industrial base, and a significant university center. The University of Pardubice plays a key role in education and research, attracting students from all over the Czech Republic and abroad. The city is also known for its chemical industry, sporting activities, especially hockey and horse racing, and rich cultural heritage.

Pardubice is also home to the famous Velká pardubická steeplechase, one of the most difficult and oldest horse races in Europe. In addition, various cultural festivals, concerts, and social events are held here every year, attracting visitors from all over the country and abroad.

The city thus retains its historical atmosphere, but at the same time is developing dynamically and is one of the important centers of eastern Bohemia.

Pardubice

Pardubice is a university and statutory town in the east of Bohemia. The history of this metropolis with more than ninety thousand inhabitants dates back to the 13th century. Pardubice is situated at the confluence of the Elbe and Chrudimka rivers in the fertile Polabska lowland.
